Some Control: Although AI does much of the work for players, the game offers a "God Mode" that let's you take more control over what happens. When players rename Capital Cities, there are three dots which open a menu with God-Mode controls in them. Players can use this menu to force a country to make alliances, go to war, or make peace with another country. Although the game uses AI otherwise, it's nice to know about these added controls when playing the game. The game plays like a simplified version of Worldbox. It's better to think of it as a map simulator rather than an actual game.

Terrible Graphics: Although it works for the game, the graphics look like they were made in Microsoft Paint, and they don't get much better when players make the maps themselves. If you need breathtaking graphics to stay engaged in a game, this is not the game for you.

Sandbox Style Play: Ages of Conflict: World War Simulator requires some imagination to enjoy. Players mostly sit back and watch how their different scenarios play out, with very little interaction.
